The MTsN curriculum for English at Junior High School says that the four language skills of English should be taught in an integrative manner from the earliest level. In fact, among those four skills writing is considered as the most difficult skill to be learned.

To facilitate the students to overcome the problem, the writer offers writing supplementary materials called “LET’S WRITE FUNCTIONAL TEXTS FOR SEVENTH GRADE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL”. This book presents colorful pictures to arouse Student’s interest and involves cooperative learning as the strategy in writing functional texts in English. It also applies the teaching learning cycle beginning with building knowledge of the text (BKOF), modeling of the text (MOT), joining construction of the text (JCOT), and individual construction of the text (ICOT).
