Sinopsis Buku :
Until the early 20th century milk was generally distributed in a raw state by farmers. It was not until 1912, after a serious disease epidemic, that New York’s strong milk pasteurization laws began to be enforced. Bottled pasteurized cream milk is a laudable specialty milk drink in the United States, but its sales began to disappear after consumers accepted homogenized milk. The first marketing of homogenized milk, was successfully distributed in 1919 by Torrington Creamer. When hot processed milk came to Europe, Stazzanized or sterilized processes were applied, both of which required a higher temperature level than standard pasteurization. Meanwhile, during the middle of the 20th century, in Europe it was still possible to observe raw milk in cans distributed by dogs or horse-drawn carts to consumers in large quantities.
